How to post on Instagram with Mac OS using Safari

In this article we will see how we can post on our Instagram account using our Macbook, instead of a phone.

The process is very easy, actually. We don’t need to do any installation of third party software or plugin, just use the built in Safari browser using a little trick.

The trick

The trick is that we will tell the browser that we are using a tablet or a phone. Instead of a desktop or a macbook. This way all websites, including Instagram will be displayed as responsive sites, meaning the pages will show the mobile version.

To do the trick we need to activate the Develop menu in Safari. That must be done through the Preferences menu and Advanced tab.

Develop menu in Safari

Check “Show Develop menu in menu bar” at the bottom of the window. You will see a new menu in Safari, called: Develop.

User Agent menu in Safari

Go to User Agent and choose iPhone from the submenu. This will tell Safari to show websites as if we were using our phone.

You will be able to see now the post button on the Instagram website at the bottom of the screen. You can post your pictures as you would do that on your phone.
